Valentine's Day is built around couples. KFC saw an opportunity to celebrate the people who actually make the night possible: the wingmen.
If the Colonel's voice is going to extend beyond the menu, it should land on objects the brand doesn't normally touch, and let the joke do the heavy lifting.
KFC + Ogilvy created Wing Bling: rings to make sure you don't forget your wingman on Valentine's Day. We seeded the launch with KFC-fan influencers, sending pre-wrapped rings with personalised notes ahead of time. On social, the launch video asked everyone else to celebrate their wingmen too.
The launch ran across KFC's social channels on Valentine's Day with influencer pre-seeding driving early word-of-mouth.
